Would definitely stay again.

Perfect location to train station, old town and public transportation. Very clean, big modern rooms (huge bathroom) and great staff. Charles at the front desk was particularly helpful. They also provide guests with the free Bern transportation app. Would definitely stay again.

Great location very convenient

Very convenient hotel located 5 minutes from train and bus station. We stayed in 4th floor in the back. 401 onwards are better more silent rooms. During the weekends you can get a lot of noise from the street.

This is a wonderful hotel.

Very Swiss, very well run, very pleasant staff, and a great location. I can't recommend it enough This is my third stay with them and I look forward to returning sometime in the future. I am an old and grizled business traveler (now retired), so I know a good thing when I see one and Savoy Bern is a good one!

Do the rooms have a minibar?

In each room there is a small fridge with two bottles of mineral water for free use. These are refilled daily. Other drinks can be ordered 24 hours a day at the reception or in the bistro.

How is the reception staffed?

The reception is staffed 24 hours a day.

What are the check-in and check-out times?

We guarantee your check in from 3.00 pm and ask you to vacate the rooms by 11.00 am on the day of departure at the latest. Our 24-hour reception is always there for you in case you arrive or depart at night or come to Bern without having booked at the Hotel Savoy beforehand. If you arrive earlier or depart later, you can book an early Check In or Late Check Out for a small extra charge.

Is breakfast included in the room rate?

Breakfast is already included in some of our pricing options. If you choose an option without breakfast, you can book breakfast for your entire stay at Hotel Savoy at any time or you can pay for breakfast as required at the hotel.

Monday to Friday: 6.30 - 10.00 a.m.

Saturday, Sunday and public holidays: 7.00 - 11.00 a.m.

We are happy to provide gluten-free and lactose-free products for breakfast. Please inform us in advance if you wish for gluten-free products.

Are taxes included in the room rate?

All room rates are inclusive of VAT.

The accommodation tax / city tax is not included in the room rate. The city tax is CHF 5.70 per person/ per night and must be paid by each guest. Instead children aged 6-16 years are charged CHF 1.50, children under 6 years are exempt of the city tax.

Is free Wi-Fi available?

Wifi is free of charge and available in the entire hotel.

Is a credit card required for the hotel booking?

Yes, you must provide a valid credit card when making your booking in order to guarantee the booking. Your credit card will only be charged if you book a prepaid rate in your reservation. You will be notified of this fact when booking.

Which means of payment are accepted?

EC-Direct & Postcard, American Express, Visa, Diners, Eurocard, JCB and cash.

No cash withdrawals possible at the reception.

Are wheelchair accessible rooms available?

We have 2 wheelchair accessible comfort rooms. In order to be able to guarantee you such a room, we recommend that you make a reservation by telephone or e-mail.

At what times is the Bistro Savoy open?

Monday to Wednesday and Friday 11.00 a.m. - 7.00 p.m.

Thursday 11.00 - 21.00

Saturday 11.00 - 16.00

Sunday closed

For our hotel guests, the bistro is open throughout the day.

Does the hotel offer laundry service?

We offer laundry service from Monday to Friday via an external service provider. You will find a laundry bag with a price list in your room.

Are power adapters available in the hotel?

You will find a desk with various built-in adapters in your room. Further adapters are available on request at the reception.

Where can I park if I arrive by car?

As a hotel guest of the Hotel Savoy Bern you benefit from a special price in the public car park "METRO" between 17:00 - 09:00. You can find more parking options here.

Can luggage be deposited at the reception?

You are welcome to leave your luggage at the reception at any time.

Are dogs allowed in the hotel?

Dogs are always welcome at the Hotel Savoy Bern. We charge a small contribution towards cleaning costs per dog / night.

Does the hotel have smoking rooms?

The Hotel Savoy is completely non-smoking.

We ask our guests to go outside of the hotel to smoke.

We will charge a cleaning fee if guests are smoking in the room.

Bern Ticket

At check-in you will receive the Bern Ticket. With this you can use the public transport in Bern free of charge during your entire stay in zones 100/101. Also included are the Gurtenbahn, the Marzilibahn and the Münsterplattformlift as well as the transfer to and from Bern Airport. On the day of arrival, our reservation confirmation serves as a transfer ticket from the train station or Bern Airport to the Hotel Savoy.

Arrival

By car:

From the motorway take exit Neufeld/Bremgarten and keep to the left direction Bern-Zentrum. Drive through the tunnel, keep to the right and follow Tiefenaustrasse which turns into Neubrückstrasse. Go straight on until the Bollwerk-street and then turn left into Speichergasse. At the Waisenhausplatz turn right and follow the sign Hotel Savoy. When entering Neuengasse on your right, stop on the white line on the floor in front of the pollers. Ring the bell for Hotel Savoy on your left hand side. You can then drive directly to the front of the Hotel to check-in.

Thereafter you will have to park your car at the public Parking Metro (parking fees will apply) or you drive directly to the Metro Parking and walk 2 minutes to the hotel for check-in. Here you will find more parking options.

By Train:

On the peron, be sure to go down into the underpass (not the escalator/lift up) and then follow the exit in the direction of Neuengasse. The escalator will take you to our street. The Hotel Savoy is on the left in Neuengasse just a three-minute walk from Bern station.
